Sessions

During Art Therapy, each session is tailored to meet you where you are. Whether you’re seeking calm, clarity, connection, or simply a safe space to express what words can’t, art therapy offers a gentle and creative way to support healing.

Approaches to Art Therapy

Begoña offers both top-down and bottom-up approaches depending on your needs, preferences, and where you are in your process.

Top-Down: Structured and Guided

In these sessions, you might be invited to respond to a theme like “What does feeling supported look like to you?” and then use your choice of materials—such as drawing, collage, or natural elements—to explore that idea. These sessions often result in a finished piece to take home, serving as a reminder of your strengths, insights, or goals.

Bottom-Up: Sensory and Process-Based

In bottom-up sessions, the focus is on connecting with the art materials through your senses—feeling textures, noticing colors, and following your instincts without pressure to create something specific. These sessions often include quiet moments, allowing space for awareness to unfold naturally. Afterward, there’s time for gentle reflection if you feel ready.

This process supports nervous system regulation, helping you reconnect with your body and make sense of your experiences in a safe, grounded way.
